Dr. Alexander Leitner
Alexander studied chemistry at the University of Vienna, Austria, and obtained his Master (2001) and PhD (2004) degrees in analytical chemistry there, under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Lindner. After spending time as a postdoctoral researcher in Vienna, he joined IMSB in 2008, initially as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Ruedi Aebersold’s lab. He was promoted to the position of Senior Assistant (Oberassistent) in 2011, and to Senior Scientist in 2017.
In his research, Alexander combines his background in (analytical) chemistry and mass spectrometry with his interest in structural and functional proteomics.
