In silico human surfaceome published!
Congrats to the Wollscheid lab to get their paper on predicting cell surface proteins published in PNAS!
We used machine learning based on solid experimental cell surface data to predict the complete human surfaceome, which we found to encompass 2886 proteins. This is the first surfaceome predictive ressource, which clearly differentiates between membrane proteins residing on intracellular membranes and such residing at the plasma membrane.
